Something horrible happened over Easter – I accidentally deleted all photos and videos from the chicken boy and I’s most recent vacation and couldn’t retrieve it. I tried everything, to no avail. Oh well, I guess we just need to go on more documented trips together. 😦 I’m kinda glad I’m writing about this product today because I cannot rave about this more. I’m not the biggest fan of lip gloss. I didn’t even own one until I bought these sets from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I was watching Youtube videos of swatches and all the shades just looked oh so amazing, I couldn’t help but think I want to have them all.
Application: First things first, it smells amazing. Pulling out the applicator is like taking out something sugary out of a treat bag. If you were a 90s kid in the Philippines, I would say that it smells so much like the butterball candy! Upon application, the smell does go away. The applicator is not a doe-foot applicator and more of a paddle. It glides on really smoothly and does not emphasize any fine lines on your lips. I usually only need the product on one side of the paddle to put the product evenly on my lips in one go. I guess you can try to build the pigmentation, but as it is gloss and not liquid lipstick, it will feel heavy if you decide to do so.

On my lips: It’s very pigmented for a lip gloss. This is not as sheer as most lip glosses I’ve tried and could work well on its own. Of course, as it is a gloss, it does not dry out and it moves around. It will transfer, but it will not fade patchy. You can even just rub your lips together to distribute the product all over your lips if you forgot to bring it with you. It’s not sticky which is what I feared it would be, and although you can tell there’s something on your lips, it feels comfortable. It’s one of my favorite lip products to put in my bag.

The shades:
St. Tropez is shade goes on quite metallic. On the swatch below, it looks pink. However, on my lips, it turns out to be some sort of nude metallic color.
Blushing is a light pink shade that could pass off as the lip gloss version of MAC Chatterbox. The first thought that popped into mind upon application is ‘Barbie Pink’.
Grape Jelly is far from being that deep violet grape shade but is instead a fuschia pink one.
Toffee is a nice nude shade on my lips. I have never been the biggest fan of nude, as I prefer bold dark colors, but this became an exception. I usually wear it whenever I want to sport a no makeup look, but I think it would also fare well with heavy eye looks.
Caramel is probably the best orange lip product in my collection. I’ve never been a fan of orange shades, but this one is more muted. Its shade is a muted down, deeper version of Amber, and I personally like this a little better too.
Tango is boysenberry in lipgloss form.
Raisin looks a bit brown on my arm but is actually a nice wearable mauve on my lips. It’s the type of mauve that will look good on anybody.
Amber is a nice light coral shade. It’s included in the Fall set, but it’s something I would wear more during the summer. I think it would be perfect for those Asian-style makeup looks.
Berry, true to its name, is a mulberry shade.
Maple is basically a slightly lighter, metallic version of Rum.
Carla is the only red gloss in both sets. When I swatched it on my arm, I thought it wouldn’t be as pigmented as it was on my lips. But this red is NOT for the faint of heart. One swipe on the lips is all it took to cover it. It’s really red and glossy, you might as well just shout ‘look at me, look at me’.
Rum is a true brown shade in the form of gloss. I’m not the biggest fan of brown lip products because it makes me look old, but if I have to buy one, I’d purchase this in a heartbeat.
Would I repurchase? Hell yeah! When I run out and the sets are still available, I would totally buy both of them again. If I do have to repurchase it individually, I would probably skip on Maple and Amber due to personal preferences. Maple is perfect for party looks and I rarely go on night outs lol. Amber is quite nice too, but just not quite suit my personality. 🙂 You can purchase it from their website or if you’re from the Philippines, preorder from @scentsandbeautyph.

I’m forever searching for a good lip gloss and I had no idea Anastasia Beverly Hills even made gloves. I love their eyebrow pencil so I’m guessing I’ll love the gloss too :). Sorry about your photos! That’s terrible 😦

I’ve convinced myself to just go to more places to replace those photos!

They’re so glossy. The shades look amazing especially Caramel, I personally prefer nudes. Too bad about your photos, but I still think it’s a blessing. It’s the perfect excuse to make new memories. 😛

I’m not as much of a lip gloss fan as I used to be, but the shades in this collection are gorgeous! I wouldn’t hesitate to get my hands on them myself if they came in lipstick form, especially matte! Do you have a favorite shade yet?

I sure do love Butterball candies (90s kid. hehe). I’m a big fan of lip gloss and this is the first time I’ve heard of these. The colours are really pretty. I would definitely go for the lighter colours like blushing and Amber.
