It feels good to earn money. No matter how small the amount is, money that you worked hard for is still money you could call your own. Since this is the first time I ever received a paycheck (from a real job, not just from jobs I do for people), I offered to treat my family and boyfriend to lunch. Unfortunately, though, the boyfriend has prior commitments with his family which is fine with me, though I definitely missed him the whole time.
This morning, I woke up to the sound of the wind banging on my glass windows, rattling it. I look outside and foresee rain. I must be Trelawney because I was just thinking it might rain and it did. But the rain and the wind didn’t stop my family and we still pushed through with our plans. Hahaha! :>
We arrived at the Mall of Asia minutes before 11 o’clock and went to Yakimix. I’ve been hearing so much from this Asian cuisine restaurant and have never even tried it.Turns out it is an Eat All You Can buffet mashed up with yakiniku. It was my first time to try it and it was neither loved or hated. I wanted to take photos but the moment I took out my mobile phone and aimed to take a shot, a waiter approached me to tell me that customers weren’t allowed to take photos. Hmm. Anyway..
Raw Food: There was a wide array of raw meat you could choose from. Pork, beef, fish.. However, the sauces provided weren’t really that tasty. I don’t know if it’s just me cooking the meat wrong, but I feel like it lacked something. I guess yakinikus aren’t for me then. Hahaha!
Rolls Section: I personally loved this section because I just LOVE ‘em rolls. And there were a LOT of them. The server must have noticed me frown because I saw one dish was already empty and immediately put one on my plate, fresh from the chef. Yay. And I like how there are other condiments aside from the usual soy sauce and wasabi.
“Cooked” Foods Section: Viands and two different kinds of chao fan. I don’t know if it’s just me but it was.. okay. My favorite would be the sweet and sour meat (because I don’t know what meat it was haha). YES, I did get a very small portion of everything.
Desserts Section: The only thing I loved about it was the toppings! I seriously love mixing sweets and I loved how there are so many toppings to choose from. Yes, I topped my ice cream with everything. However, the pastries weren’t anything special. It didn’t taste bad, but as usual, there was something that’s lacking. My huge disappointment was the leche flan. I am a fan of leche flan and it didn’t quite meet my expectations. 😦
I particularly liked the service because they kept changing our grill (and replacing it with a clean one) and refilling our drinks (though it might prolly be to make us full faster HAHA). This one waiter kept assisting me whenever I get another plate of food (I know I’m matakaw, okay?).
